Brendan and Libby met February 2017 in Grand Rapids. Brendan went to Michigan State University while Libby went to Grand Valley State University. Brendan, long time friend of Taylor and Jillian (Matrons of Honor), was visiting Taylor for her 21st birthday at Grand Valley. Libby and Brendan hit it off and had the best time celebrating their mutual friend. Although the timing wasn't right in February of 2017, they re-kindled February of 2018 while Brendan was visiting Taylor for her birthday AGAIN. Shortly after that weekend, in March of 2018, Libby and Brendan made it "official" and started dating. They would like to give a special shout out to Taylor Roncelli and Jillian Fisher for quite literally making their relationship happen by bringing a high school friend and college friend together, who are now tying the knot!

Taking M22 up north is one of Libby and Brendan's favorite things to do. On Friday, June 25, they were headed to what was supposed to be a weekend of wine tasting in Traverse City with Brendan's family. They stopped in Arcadia at the scenic turnout, and then headed to their favorite little coffee shop in Elberta. After, they decided to stop in Frankfort and walk the beach to kill some time before their 2pm reservation in Traverse City. After taking a few steps down the beach, Brendan grabbed Libby's hands. Libby still doesn't really remember what was said, but Brendan got down on one knee and asked Libby to spend the rest of her life with him. Obviously she said YES. Brendan's sister, Megan and sister in law, Alyssa ran out to greet them after they hid behind a porta-potty on the beach to take pictures and videos of the special moment. After, Brendan and Libby headed up to Traverse City by themselves and enjoyed a day at the wineries to celebrate. On Saturday, they headed back to Grand Rapids for an engagement party with both families. A huge thank you to everyone involved in the planning and execution! It truly was the best weekend.
