Lianet and Alex met on Thanksgiving 2012 while attending her father's Thanksgiving day feast! Alex was close friends with Lianet's sister and brother-in-law and joined them for the festivities. At the time, Lianet worked in retail and worked until about 6pm that night, and as you can imagine, she was very late to the party and of course noticed that there was an unfamiliar face ;). As the night went on, Alex and Lianet joined in on casual conversations and she eventually started to talk about her 21st birthday bash where she told Alex he was invited too! The night ended and they went their separate ways. Days later, they communicated a little bit through social media and eventually her sister set up a double date to dinner and a movie. Even after that night, they still didn't exchange numbers! Lianet thought to herself "Is he really not going to ask for my number? Whatever." A few days later he asked her for her number through social media and they started to talk a lot..you know those usual conversations people who are dating tend to have. He did indeed go out to celebrate Lianet's birthday in January! Before you know it, they were spending a lot of time together and made an unconscious effort to see each other almost every night. A couple months later, May to be exact, Alex invited Lianet on a trip to Orlando where they made it "official."

For Alex's birthday last year, Lianet surprised him with Philadelphia Eagles tickets. For those of you who don't already know, Alex is a hardcore Eagles fan. They took a trip up north for the game and stayed in New Jersey where Lianet's aunt resides. They made the most of their trip and explored NYC for two days doing all of the tourist attractions, and then spent a day exploring Philadelphia. When that Sunday came around it was time for the big game. They tailgated in the morning and then had the opportunity to go out on the field while the players warmed up. It was a surprise to Lianet that they had tickets to go on the field because she didn't remember purchasing it but she assumed she got a great deal, thinking that the field pass came with the tickets! While they were on the field, Lianet was distracted taking pictures of the players warming up when suddenly Alex came up to her and hugged her and said all the sweetest things in her ear and then it happened! Alex got down on one knee and asked Lianet to marry him! Luckily Lianet's Uncle Steve was there to capture the whole thing!
