We met in 2021, when we were living in Ohio. Despite the pandemic, we had fun exploring Columbus and finding a home in one another. Before long, we were introducing our pets to each other and integrating our lives. In 2023, I (Liana) started a new job at Bates College in Maine, and we moved to New England together. Life in Maine has been a constant adventure for us: hiking, kayaking, state parks, and exploring new places with friends. In 2025, good things came in threes: in March, we got engaged while strolling along the Kennebec River in Hallowell. Then we bought a lake house and spent the early part of the summer painting and moving into our first home, in between trips to Montana and North Carolina with Nate's family, and work trips throughout the US and to Italy. In August, we tied the knot on a sunny day on a vineyard in Maine, with our parents and witnesses in attendance. In November, we adopted a kitten, Flora, who is obsessed with her canine siblings.
