Question

I'm from out of state- what do I need to know about traveling to the wedding?

Answer

Hi, Lawlers and Minnises! Washington State is very far to travel from Michigan in October, especially considering the slim accommodation options near the ceremony location. We have a Michigan reception planned for the first week in November - we'll come to you! we deeply appreciate you wanting to celebrate with us, and we hope this option will make celebrating easier. If you decide to trek all the way out to us, thank you! The Spokane International Airport is about an hour and fifteen minutes southeast of the ceremony location near Fort Spokane, and about 15 minutes from the closest hotel accommodations. There are some AirBnB and VRBO options near the ceremony location, and several hotel options slightly further away.

Question

What about the Michigan reception?

Answer

We understand it's a big expectation to ask everyone to fly out to us, so we will also be coming out to Michigan and holding a second reception the first Sunday of November! Everyone traveling from Michigan who was invited to the wedding in Washington will be welcome at the second reception as well, while giving the rest of Liana's Michigan family and friends a chance to meet Dakota and celebrate with us. A second round of invitations to just the Michigan reception will be sent out mid-April. If you want to check if you are invited to both events, the RSVP page will ask you to reply for both events.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Not every person is invited to both events, unfortunately. Our RSVP page will have an option for RSVP for both or either event, depending on the person. Please let us know by May 31st if you plan to attend the ceremony and reception in Washington. If you plan to attend the Michigan reception, please RSVP for that by Sept. 1st. If you need to reach out to us for specific info, please email us.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We will be ready for guests to arrive as early at 3:30pm, and the ceremony will start at 4:30pm. Please arrive at least a half an hour before the ceremony to allow time for parking and seating (and catching up!)

Question

Do you have any accomodations you can recommend?

Answer

There are a lot of upsides that come with the cabin as a wedding venue, but unfortunately this is not one of them. There are some Airbnb and VRBO options nearby, and there are endless hotel options in Spokane about an hour and fifteen minutes southeast. For our more adventurous guests, there is a campsite open to both tents and RVs about 5 minutes down the road, which will be open for booking in April. We understand this a big barrier for attendance, especially for Liana's out of state family - we will also have a Michigan reception planned for the first Sunday in November! We hope this can ease the burden of cross-country travel for many of you.

Question

What is the ceremony venue like?

Answer

The ceremony and reception is taking place at Dakota's family cabin. It's a small cabin overlooking Lake Roosevelt, and holds special meaning to Dakota. The plot around the cabin is sparsely wooded, with some neighbors about a quarter mile away. When Dakota's grandmother passed away several years ago now, his late grandfather created a memorial for her nearby. There is a firepit, dirt roads, and Eastern Washington weather. The entire event will be held outdoors. We will be renting awnings to accommodate for possible weather. Eastern Washington in mid-October could be as warm as 80 degrees or cold enough to frost, so please be aware that it could be cold out the day of the ceremony.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Generally, yes - please dress semi-formal, for a fall garden party, but please wear outdoor shoes. This is a completely outdoor event in mid-October- we will have a fire pit after dark if it's cool enough, but we expect clear warm weather. Please dress comfortably, and nice. The event will have a slight fantasy element to it, so if you would like to dress with that in mind, please feel free.

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

Yes, there is - it can be accessed by a tab at the top of the page. We appreciate the thought!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If your RSVP includes a plus one, yes! Otherwise, please understand the ceremony location has very limited space and we are already pushing the limits of it's abilities. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at 10.17.25.Wedding@gmail.com.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know how many kids you are bringing via your RSVP, so we can make sure we have enough food for them too!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely, please leave us a note on the RSVP page, or email us as soon as you can at 10.17.25.Wedding@gmail.com. Our caterer will be informed and we will work with you to make sure you're safe and able to enjoy yourself! We will have accommodations already in place for gluten and dairy free or vegetarian dietary restrictions.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is flat land surrounding the cabin that is open for parking. You'll be directed on where to park when you arrive.

Question

What are the wedding colors?

Answer

The Bride's colour is dark plum, and the Groom's colour is forest green.

Question

Will there be alcohol at the wedding reception?

Answer

Yes, at the Washington reception several kinds of white wine will be available as well as a signature cocktail.
