House Or Rental
This is a hostel, for those of you on a tight budget (and without family in Edmonton). We've heard decent things about this hostel but have never personally stayed here. This is a super central location just off Whyte Ave with a board game cafe, irish pub, gluten free Polish restaurant and Venezuelan restaurant all within 1 block. Also you can access Communauto car share and frequent bus service within a 2 minute walk.
Hotel
This hotel is central to a lot of the events happening over the weekend. The location is a good stopover point between the reception and the fireworks on the Saturday evening. Close to Mt. Pleasant neighbourhood which is a good spot for morning runs. There is also a great coffee shop named Cru nearby, in addition to Edmonton's first Krispy Kreme donughterie (we hope this is a real word!).
Hotel
This hotel is pretty centrally located to the activities this weekend and is in the southeast end of the City. For those coming with a rental car or their own vehicle, its a great location. Food wise, you're close to a Boston Pizza, Carls Jr, McDonalds - and Edmonton's Reuse Centre (if you want to go thrifting on the Friday).

Train
A true Liam-approved Edmonton experience! Edmonton was the first city in North America under 1 million people to construct a Light Rail System. Edmonton's system opened back in 1978 and was most recently expanded in 2024. Fun fact, Edmonton's train network has more average weekday riders than Dallas' DART and St. Louis's light rail systems combined! Does the 'blue' train line suit your fancy? We recommend parking at Southgate LRT Station and taking a northbound "Clareview" train to Stadium station. At Stadium station, you can see Canada's largest football stadium, grab a coffee at Felice Cafe and walk east to the edge of the Edmonton river valley (along Jasper Avenue). Are you more of a 'green line' person? Park your vehicle at Davies LRT Station, then take a "102 Street Station" north up to Muttart Stop. The Muttart Conservatory is one of our favourite places in town with tropical plants, amazing feature displays and lots of space for kids to run around. You can also continue north up to Churchill to see our City Hall or visit the Art Gallery of Alberta. Bikes can be taken on LRT cars anytime of the day.
Travel Note
Edmonton has one of the most extensive park and urban forest networks in all of North America. All put together, the river valley is 6x times bigger than Vancouver's Stanley Park! E-scooters and e-bikes are available throughout central and suburban Edmonton. They are also surprisingly stable to ride! Liam & Louisa recommend getting a day pass if you're not sure how long you will be riding for, as the costs can add up quick.
