I first noticed Maggie at the ripe young age of thirteen. She shared her testimony at Winter Retreat, a youth event at The Hill. Over the next few years, we became better friends. Maggie was nice to everyone, but I always thought she was especially kind to me ;) -Liam Ok, my turn. Liam is correct on one thing. We did meet each other at the ripe young age of 13, but I honestly didn't know him hardly at all. Although, he is right, we did become friends in college. I remember the day he scared me on campus in the parking lot by honking his horn at me at 8am. That began our many "run ins" on campus. And I'll be honest I liked him, but never thought he liked me back. He was too cool and I, well, wasn't. -Maggie Not true (about the cool part). I would've never guessed you were into me by the random calls to help with calculus homework, or the countless visits to the guy's house, or our long convos on campus. Maggie isn't good about discrete, and she one time asked for my hoodie in front of our friends at bible study. I was red as a tomato, but inside, I liked it. -Liam Anyways, after about a year of becoming good friends, summer camp came around and we were both going to be counselors. Funny enough we both got put on the same work crew for the week. It was truly such a blast. We learned that Liam is the fun one and I'm the one who had to make sure people were drinking water. Meanwhile girlie pop is still clueless he likes me. -Maggie In the months leading up to camp, I had been asking the Lord to give me guidance on how to handle my feelings for Maggie. After camp, I knew I had to ask her out, so I did what any sensible guy would do. I texted her: "Wanna go see the new Spider-Man movie *laughy face*" My feelings for her couldn't have been made more obvious if you ask me. -Liam So It's fourth of July in the middle of fireworks and I get that text from Liam and I immediately go to my mom and say "why are guys so weird?" Something in me thought maybe it was a date? But honestly I had no idea. So I made him wait until the next morning for an answer. And of course, I said yes, but as a friend. - Maggie Date night rolls around and "Spider-Man movie" turns into four hours of walking and talking at the riverfront in Paducah. I finally mustered up the courage to tell Maggie how I felt and... -Liam I was so relieved he finally said something because I still didn't know if it was a date. Once he did I reciprocated that I liked him too. It was the most fun and easy first date I'd ever been on (That's the only first date I've ever been on). -Maggie So all that to say we wouldn't be here without the Lord. Our story, though long and crazy, has clearly been woven together by the Lord. We found in each other a best friend, confidant, partner, and spiritual companion. We cannot wait for the adventure that is ahead of us in marriage! -Maggie & Liam
