Tavin and I met at Snowbird in Utah. We were both ski bumming and working at a restaurant at the ski resort called The Aerie. The first time we hung out it was to go climb up Big Cottonwood Canyon on the Bumblebee Wall where Tavin almost fell clipping into the anchors (very smooth). When I said how much fun I had had and that we should do this again he informed me that the following week he was leaving to Moab to climb for a month and then to Patagonia on a bike packing trip. I figured well... I'll never see him again. The next winter he came back but refused to work in a restaurant ever again and instead was in valet at the Cliff Lodge. I had a boyfriend at the time, and we continued to grow our friendship through skiing, climbing, and hiking. Summer came and went and the next year when winter came around so did Tavin. Since then he has never strayed too far. After two and a half years of long distance I moved to Teton Valley, ID where Tavin was living and working. I traded my caretaking job and multistory condo for a school bus with no running water and never looked back. I began working on getting into nursing school and Tavin promptly decided to move to Ogden, Utah and go to flight school. He eventually came back to the valley, to me, and we have shaped our lives together ever since. We bought our property in 2022 from a good friend and moved onto it last summer. It has been a wild ride, but I would not expect or want anything less or to have anyone else by my side.
