UPDATE: COVID Safety Plan - Please Read!

Lia and Chad's COVID Policies

Given the current surge of coronavirus Delta variant cases and CDC guidance changes in response to it, we have been thinking about how to move forward with the wedding celebration while trying to reduce the potential for coronavirus spread between guests who are coming in from all over the country. After weighing out how much risk we are willing to take and trying to keep in mind that guests have different comfort levels concerning covid exposure, we have landed on two policies that we think can hopefully set many minds at ease. Policy number 1: We ask that any adult staying overnight in a house on site be fully vaccinated. We are not requiring proof of vaccination or anything like that. We are working on the honor system here. Policy number 2: We ask that you put on a mask if you enter a house you are not staying in overnight regardless of vaccination status. We feel that this will help reduce the risk of transmission between house groups if covid does decide to crash the party. So, if you need to go into a house that you are not staying in to use the bathroom or for any other reason, go ahead. Just have a mask on while you are in there. We are not asking people to wear masks outside, but of course you are welcome to do so if you want to. We will not enforce any social distancing outside, but please be cognizant that guests will have different comfort levels when it comes to being in close proximity to others. Let’s all be courteous. We understand that some of you may find these policies are too weak and some may find these policies are too strong. We hope that the rules we set up here are not a deal breaker for anyone planning to attend, but if for any reason they are, please let us know. Thanks and we are really excited to see you all at the wedding! Lia and Chad

Sixteen Years Ago...

April 21, 2005

Chad began his freshman year at Michigan State University in the fall of 2004. Lia, by then a sophomore at MSU, met Chad through mutual friends. They sometimes talked at parties, while walking around campus and at "the caf". But wasn't until the spring of 2005 when these two became twitterpated. A road trip with friends to an Earth Day concert in Cincinnati kindled love for more than just the planet. They've been taking road trips and adventures together ever since.

The Next Chapter

July 2, 2019

On the last day of June in 2019, Lia and Chad rented a 26' U-Haul, loaded up all their possessions and drove nine hours to their new home in St. Paul, Minnesota. The day after arriving, Chad casually suggests they drive together another three hours north, in a smaller vehicle this time, to see Lake Superior. Much to his surprise, Lia agreed. Three hours later they were hiking a rocky trail overlooking the world's largest freshwater lake. Chad found a nice spot for them both to sit on a craggy outcrop with a world class view. As they pondered the beginning of the next chapter of their lives, Chad took out a ring from his backpack and asked Lia to marry him. She, of course, said yes.
