Flight
Waiheke Island is accessible from Auckland. We recommend flying into Auckland airport on Friday 6th November, and departing Monday 9th November (afternoon flight if you can do it!)
Travel Note
There are three ferry operators servicing Waiheke Island. Passenger ferry (no cars) — Fullers360 & Island Direct * Departs from Auckland’s Downtown Ferry Terminal * Arrives at Matiatia Wharf on Waiheke Island * Travel time is approximately 40 minutes * Ferries run frequently throughout the day Car ferry — Sealink NZ * Car and passenger ferry * Slower crossing, approximately 60–90 minutes * Departs from Half Moon Bay (not the CBD ferry terminal) * Limited daily sailings * Advance booking required, especially if bringing a vehicle Important ferry information * Ferry tickets should be booked in advance, particularly for weekend travel * Waiheke Island is very busy during wedding season and ferries can sell out * The last ferry departs Waiheke on Sunday night around 10pm, so accommodation on the island will be required on Sunday night https://www.fullers.co.nz/ https://islanddirect.co.nz/ https://www.sealink.co.nz/
Travel Note
We recommend booking accommodation as early as possible. * Multiple weddings often take place on Waiheke on the same weekend * Accommodation can book out quickly for Friday and Saturday nights * Accommodation is required on Sunday night as ferries stop running, before our wedding ends.
