Although we are high school sweethearts, we didn't start dating until Kate's senior year and Leyton's first year in college. We met in band class, fall 2020. We were in the percussion section together, alongside many friends. We didn't express our interests in each other until fall of 2023. Before then though, we always had an almost magnetic pull to eachother. "I remember that I always gravitated towards him in a room.” - Kate. Kate was dead set on winning Leyton over. "If you knew me during the time you knew I was SO annoying about him, but I knew he was the one!!" Before we started dating, we would take any opportunity to see and talk to each other. We had many third wheels!In March 2024, Leyton hosted a bonfire party at his house, and while he ran inside, our friend Skylar threw Leyton’s camping chair into darkness, so Leyton was forced to sit next to Kate on a bench. Our love story started under the stars, surrounded by friends at a bonfire. We want our wedding to be similar. On our first date, 3/30/24, we made it official.
