In January Jacob and Leyden went on a family/friend trip to Las Vegas. On the last night along with Leyden's parents, and a bunch of cheering strangers, Jacob popped the question during the Bellagio Fountain show! They showed up late for the first show, so they stayed for the second and had a front-row view for the big moment! Fun Fact: Jacob had planned to do it the night before in the same location, but Leyden spilled spaghetti and meatballs on her WHITE dress at dinner, so he decided to wait one more night.

Jacob and Leyden met in 2018 while working together at the local college town pizza joint, Sips on the Square. When Jacob walked in for work one day he was met with a "Welcome to Sips" from Leyden. Of course, he said "thank you" with a grin, walked behind the counter, and clocked in! They laughed about it and became acquaintances over the next few weeks. On July 4th Jacob invited Leyden to a shrimp boil he and his friends were having (instant yes) and needless to say, there were fireworks! Since meeting the two have enjoyed traveling near and far, moved to a new city together, made a great bunch of friends, and became pet parents to Ash, Groovy, and Mowgli. Five going on six years later the two still enjoy a pizza together at least once a week.
