Welcome to the Greatest Event of our Lives

I had just moved to North Carolina to live with one of my best friends, Kelly Pope! She was on her way to the annual New Year's trip with her UNC college buddies. It was a ski weekend in the mountains. Having been raised in Colorado I could not say no to a ski trip. Kelly said quote "ooh, Parker is going to like you." I guess she was right. We had an Air BnB in Asheville. It was mostly couples; Levi & Rachael, Kelly & Clement, Ashley & Sherwyn, one other couple, Parker, Shannon, and me. We kept getting paired for every board game and on all of the ski lifts. From the white elephant gift exchange, our gifts basically sealed the deal. It was a smooth jazz Christmas CD. About a week after that trip Parker sent me an awkward Facebook message, we started talking, and shortly after that, he was on his way back to North Carolina to visit me. We stayed in a long-distance relationship for over a year and a half, driving back and forth between Georgia and North Carolina until Parker got into Medical school. We decided to move in together to make our relationship easier during medical school. Now we live in Florida with our two dogs and couldn't be more excited to get married and start building our family.
