Maid of Honor
Francesca and I met through Delta Zeta at SRU and in a short time went from strangers to roommates (S/O Campus Side) to best friends. I knew we were going to be close when Fran welcomed me in with open arms, literally. Both of us are leos, former DZ presidents, and bleed black & gold. Francesca lives in Pittsburgh and runs the best local blog, be sure to check her out for all yinzer happenings @the412franimal!
Matron of Honor
My DZ (and real-life) Big Sister! Ali and I met at CalU when she became my Greek life "big" ten years ago. Though our relationship has almost always been long-distance; we have been able to stay close. Over the years she's offered me guidance, steadfast love, and a lot of laughs. I wouldn't have made it out of CalU alive without her! After as many moves as me, she now resides in her hometown of Clarion with her husband, Luke, and runs a family chocolate business @charvalcandies
Bridesmaid
From the break room of Charlotte Russe to the top of Manchu Pichu, Bailey was one of the biggest motivators for transferring to SRU. She also was a DZ who transferred and assured me it would be ok! And boy, was she right.. it was a decision that changed the trajectory of my life and led me to some of my best friends. Bailey was also a roommate in the Babe Cave where she, myself, and Fran made many memories. She now is a licensed massage therapist and runs her own business in Pittsburgh where she resides @bayc_lmt
Bridesmaid
My first friend! Kami and I were friends before we even had a say in the matter. We grew up across the street from each other, danced together, got in trouble together, cried together, laughed together, and tried to make sense of this whole life thing for 28 years now. She's been with me in some capacity during every single phase of life. Even though we lived apart while she was dancing in NYC (and moved home as soon as I got there!) we always found a way back to one another. It is so unique to have a friendship that stands the test of time and I'm so thankful it was her! Kami is now traveling and working as a PT Assistant.
Best Man
Born just two months apart, our bond dates back longer than we can remember. From childhood days of playing video games until our eyes hurt to our first concert experiences and more, we've always been by each other's side. Kasey introduced me to wrestling at the age of 7, sparking what turned out to be a lifelong passion. Not including the countless living room matches, there's no better time to admit that he does own the only recorded win of our matchups, giving him a 1-0 lead in the series. 20 years later and I still haven't forgotten! Together, we've navigated every phase of life, building our bond every step of the way. I am beyond honored and excited to have Kasey by my side as my best man. A guy that I can lean on who has been there through it all.
Groomsman
Jordan Moss, aka J.moss, aka The Rhetorician! Our paths first crossed in the tunnels of the PJW state tourney, setting the stage for a lasting friendship. It was going to watch him compete at his high school in 2010 where I met Lexie for the very first time. Talk about a crucial piece to the puzzle. We were roommates in college, wrestling, and laying down tracks in our 'studio'- the small back room where we kept all the stuff we overpacked after moving in. Living in the PNW since graduation, Moss has only been a phone call away to this day. A call that can last hours with a range of topics including okie dokes, politics, life, and music.
Groomsman
Introducing, AZ. Like most relationships in today's age, it all started with a slide in the DMs. Having wrestled against one another (Zanetta 1, Shelton 0) Zanetta reached out on Facebook and suggested I should explore Pitt as a college option. The rest was history. Our wrestling days saw him at 125lbs and me at 133lbs, forming what we called the 1-2 punch. Countless hours on the mat, pushing and motivating each other forged a bond that continued well after our college days. If a friendship can withstand those grueling Pitt wrestling days it can make it through anything.
Groomsman
Ian Abplanalp, not just a groomsman but soon-to-be brother-in-law. He's already welcomed me into the family with open arms by consistently winning the annual Christmas Eve gingerbread house-making contest. Like many of the other friendships in my life wrestling has been the foundation of this one as well. Outside of that lifelong connection, our love for Big Rail, and ambition to learn how to golf has also added to our relationship. When I think about the growth of our friendship over the past 6 years and what the future has in store, I'm honored to have him stand by my side.
Officiant
Last but not least our officiant, Brian Kazienko. Dr. Kazienko is a mentor and close family friend. His influence has played a positive role in Shelton's life for well over a decade and continues to this day. As we start this next chapter of our lives we are honored and excited to have him be our officiant! He currently resides in Park City, UT with his wife Dani and two kids, Nate and Kat.
