we're getting married !

Kirk and Lexie met in their sophomore year of high school when Lexie transferred to Southwest Covenant. They remained casual friends up until the summer leading into their senior year. During a class hangout that summer, Lexie noticed that Kirk was paying a little extra attention to her on the volleyball court. From that day on, the two started talking everyday and eventually became glued at the hip. The months that followed were filled with fun dates, lots of basketball (mainly Lexie rebounding for Kirk), laughter, and the joy of getting to know each other. On January 23rd, 2021, after an SWCS basketball game, they made their relationship official. After graduating in May 2021, Kirk moved to Troy, Alabama to play basketball at Troy University, while Lexie attended Oklahoma State—marking the start of a two-year long-distance journey. Though challenging, they believe the distance strengthened their relationship and deepened their confidence in each other. After his sophomore year, Kirk decided to transfer to Oklahoma State which was Lexie's biggest dream come true! Their time together at OSU has been nothing short of amazing. From meeting new friends, to study dates, to date parties, to OSU sporting events, to becoming intramural champions (all credit goes to Kirk), to concerts, to joining the OSU basketball team, and to even the mundane moments– every experience has been a true gift. On July 4th, 2024, Kirk proposed to Lexie in Brooklyn, New York. She was surprised and overjoyed to say yes to marrying her best friend. The Lord has been so faithful and generous to bring them together and allow them to love one another on this side of Heaven. All the glory, honor, and praise belongs to Him for this sweet union!
