Our Story

When you know, you know

Our freshman year of college, we both arrived to campus early for our preseason: Lexie with volleyball and Brock with Soccer. We had first seen each other through an ERAU class of 2026 instagram page. Seeing we were both athletes, Lexie reached out since we would both be there 2 weeks before classes. On August 4th, 2022, Lexie and Brock finally met... and have been by each other's side every day since. Meeting each other wasn't scary, it had felt as if we already knew each other, like it was suppose to happen. Life was sure to throw its obstacles at us as it does with everything strong, to test it and ensure that no matter what challenges we may come across in the future, we know we can get through it all. From injuries to busy schedules to internships and field training miles apart, we've stuck by each other's side and supported each other every step of the way. Every day, our love, strength, and bond has evolved to what it is now, and we can't wait to see where this beautiful and loving journey will take us next.

The Proposal

The yes day

As every man wishes, Lexie was completely surprised at the timing of the proposal. From telling her it wouldn't be until after graduation all the way to faking her out the day of, the proposal was a complete surprise, yet everything Lexie could have wished for. On August 24, 2025, Brock and Lexie took a day trip to St.Augustine, Florida before their first day of senior year began. The plan in Lexie's mind was to see the fort we both had visited as kids, see the Lightner Museum and its art, and possibly see the lighthouse just as we did in Ponce Inlet, Florida just the weekend before. Brock, on the other hand, had a few events planned along the way. Brock and his friend that he hired to take photos, were trying to correlate the timing of everything. We went to the fort first and walked around, but for Brock, it was a bit smaller than he had remembered, and it didn't take up as much time as he thought it would. Secretly texting our photographer, he knew he had to buy us a bit more time. Once we finished the fort, we were headed to the Lightner Museum... a beautiful and historic building that had a stunning front courtyard with a fountain just in the center of it all... the place where Brock planned to propose. On the way there, Lexie couldn't stop fidgeting with her hair. With it being the end of August in Florida, it was quite humid and hot outside so she thought to maybe put her hair in a bun or a braid as they walked. Brock of course knew Lexie would never want her hair up in their proposal pictures, so he had to think fast of a way to get her to keep it down: pictures. Brock had Lexie stand and pose in a few different areas to take her photo so she would keep her hair down and put her phone out of the way... a perfect plan to ensure the same when the real time comes. When in the last stretch to the Lightner Museum, they happened to pass by a smaller jewelry store. Jokingly, Lexie asked "Do we need to stop in there?" To this, Brock replied "You'll have to wait a bit longer" as he knew, that "bit longer" was crossing the street to the museum. When we came to be in front of the museum, fountain behind us, Brock asked Lexie to take one last picture before they went in. As the last few times, Lexie handed Brock her belongings, stood in front of the buildings fountain, and posed for a few pictures. When finished taking pictures, Brock put all of their belongings down and walked towards Lexie. This was the only moment throughout this process that Lexie finally knew it was happening. Brock walked over to Lexie, got on one knee, and said the speech he had been crafting in his mind all this time. Then, said the words we all had been waiting for... and of course... Lexie said yes.
