Ricky and Alexis met in May of 2016 at a luncheon. Three years later, they reconnected through Facebook and became friends. In the summer of 2020, their friendship and feelings for each other grew. Covid did not stop them from seeing each other. On September 19, Ricky took Alexis to Starbucks for coffee and lemonade. Alexis stepped away for a bit, to come back and find a card where she was sitting. Ricky asked Alexis to help him solve a math problem. The problem read, “You + Me =? Solve the equation.” Alexis said, “Us” and yes to being Ricky’s girlfriend. Together, they have made memories; from going out together to hanging out with family and friends, going on little trips, and going to their first rock concert.

Ricky and Alexis celebrated three years together. Saturday, September 30, was a day to remember. The day started with Alexis coaching her swim and dive team to victory at the aquatic center. After the meet, Ricky took Alexis to her Godparents’ House (Pat and Gabriel) for a carneasada with family. Little did we all know, that it was an engagement party for Ricky and Alexis. Ricky surprised Alexis and her family with a marriage proposal. Alexis said “yes” to happily ever after.
