We met in college at Purdue University through a mutual friend and a love of soccer. It was an immediate connection as we grew closer as friends. Although we hit it off right away, it took a few months of Nick having to be patient until Lexi said yes to dating him.
Nick asked Lexi to go to Triple XXX- a classic first date spot at Purdue- after a football game sophomore year. What lasted hours only felt like minutes. The waitress was smart enough to assume we were on a date and handed the bill right to Nick.
Nick did an incredible job keeping it all a secret and had the perfect distractions planned! On the same day he proposed, he bought a car. Of course we had to celebrate his new ride, so we went to Trader's Point Creamery for a nice dinner. The restaurant has a farm with cows- Lexi's favorite farm animal. Throughout the day, he hid the ring exceptionally well to the point that even Lexi couldn't find it when snooping. Once at the restaurant, Lexi was conveniently asked if she wanted to walk a calf, who was strong-willed and kept her occupied while he prepared to propose. Walking the cow around the property, Nick shared what was on his heart and knelt down to ask the big question, "Lexi, will you marry me?" The answer was an immediate "Yes!"
