Our story started because of music. Lexi was an independent artist and a fan of Keshawn, better known as “Lil Bam.” She reached out through a DM to ask if he would do a feature on one of her songs. He agreed, but asked if she would be a video girl in one of his music videos. When the day came to shoot in Birmingham, the video never happened. But something much better did. Instead of asking Lexi to come back and film another day, Keshawn sent her a message that changed everything: “You ain’t no video girl, you a superstar.” From that moment on, he wasn’t interested in her being in a music video—he wanted her to be his partner. The two spent nearly every day together from the moment they met and quickly became inseparable. They eventually recorded their song together, and Lexi even got her chance to be his video girl after all—this time as the star of a romantic song made just for them. What started as a simple DM about music became a love story neither of them saw coming. Today, they’re grateful that one unanswered video shoot led them to the greatest collaboration of their lives: forever.
