We technically first met all the way back in elementary school, growing up and going to school together, though neither of us actually remembers the very first moment. What we do remember is our very brief “relationship” freshman year of high school that lasted approximately two weeks before we went our separate ways. Life carried on until the summer after junior year, when everything changed. While Lexi was on vacation with a mutual friend, they happened to Snapchat Charles. The moment he replied, Lexi immediately said, “Wait… he’s like really cute.” Not long after, at a Fourth of July party reluctantly hosted by David and Julie (and somehow successfully convinced into happening by Lexi), she worked up the courage to tell Charles she liked him. Then came the first date… followed by the second, and the third. Somewhere in between, we became completely inseparable. In fact, Lexi’s friends staged a full “intervention” in high school because she was spending so much time with Charles. And honestly, not much has changed since then. Through college, long-distance during basic training, countless late-night drives, ice cream runs, and life changes, we’ve continued choosing each other through every season. Now, 7 years later, we’ve built a life together in our home with our two dogs, and we still like spending just about all our time together.
