Things to Do

We're excited to share some of our favorite local must-do's! Each of these experiences hold special memories for both of us. Our hope is that you get to check one if not all of these off of your list while you're here.
Old Town Temecula

Old Town Temecula

Old Town Front Street, Temecula, CA 92590

Think modernized Western Town—Old Town is a fun place to spend a few hours! It is filled with tons of restaurants, pubs, antique & boutique shops, and live music. The area is very walkable, so park along the main street or in the parking structure near City Hall (most parking is free) and stroll around. Some of our favorite restaurants: PUBlic House (the Goat Toast is incredible!) The Goat & Vine (elevated pizza & salads, so YUM!) 1909 Crush n' Brew Penfolds (a fun, yummy, & eclectic breakfast diner, located just outside of Old Town. Everything on their menu is delicious!)

Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Ride

Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Ride

This is one of our absolute favorites! For our early risers, and for those of you that aren’t—you'll both LOVE this. It's completely worth the early wake up. Touring Temecula Wine Country from the ground has its benefits—wine tastings would top that list—but there’s nothing like seeing the picturesque landscape from above. There are multiple companies that offer balloon tours and tickets can be slightly cheaper if you buy in pairs/multiples rather than single rider tickets. Groupon typically has great deals on tickets too, so would recommend shopping around before booking. Also, check to see if your tickets have any additional inclusions—sometimes balloon companies offer an in-flight champagne toast, complimentary or discounted wine tasting at local wineries for later on in the day, etc.

Wine Tasting

Wine Tasting

Temecula is considered the Napa Valley of Southern California! There are over 40 wineries offering award-winning wines, great restaurants, lodging, and beautiful views. Most wineries are open daily and prices for wine tasting vary by winery. No reservations are needed. You can tour on your own (I added some helpful links below), but if that’s too much and you don’t feel like planning or driving, there are plenty of guided tours that include transportation. Here is a link for some tours, but you can also use google to research others, as there are plenty of companies! We recommend checking out Groupon as well. www.temeculawines.org/winery-tours/ Here are a few resources that may help as you navigate Wine Country :) List of Wineries: https://www.temeculawines.org/taste/winery-listing.php Wine Country map: https://www.temeculawines.org/taste/winery-map.php Self-Guided Tour: https://www.temeculawines.org/winery-tours/self-guided.php

Torrey Pines Gliderport

Torrey Pines Gliderport

2800 Torrey Pines Scenic Drive, San Diego, CA 92037
, (858) 452-9858

This place is BEAUTIFUL and one of our favorite spots in San Diego! Whether you want to give paragliding a try or just enjoy some lunch out on the scenic coastline of La Jolla watching the paragliders take off and land, you will love it. Cliffhanger Café is a small grub spot at Gliderport serving lunch items, but you can also bring in your own food and hang out at the picnic tables :) There is a hike down from Gliderport to Blacks Beach. It can be somewhat of a challenging hike, so plan accordingly. The beach is also known to be a nude beach (you've been warned), so pack your bathing suit...or don't (LOL).

USS Midway Museum

USS Midway Museum

910 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101
, (619) 544-9600

For our Top Gun fans...welcome to the danger zone! With more than 30 restored aircraft, and nearly 10 acres of exhibits and displays, the Midway brings you the most complete cross-section of carrier aviation in the world. From high up on the flight deck down to the main engine room, this experience takes you on a unique warship journey that engages the sights, sounds, and aromas of this symbol of American freedom. Free for children 5 years old and younger, Active Duty Military (w/valid ID), Active Sworn Law Enforcement (w/valid ID), Active Sworn Fire Fighter (w/valid ID) and including Reservist. To receive free admission, visit the Ticket Booth on the day of your visit. ***All other guests in your party must purchase tickets in advance online.

Little Italy

Little Italy

San Diego, CA 92101

Once home to San Diego's flourishing tuna fishing industry and generations of Italian families who made their living on the sea, Little Italy is now a lively neighborhood with cozy patio cafés, international restaurants, craft brew stops, urban wineries, art galleries, sophisticated shops, boutique hotels, and the festive Piazza della Famiglia. Farmers Market: every Saturday from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM--several blocks of Little Italy are shut down for the weekly Little Italy Mercato—a dynamic farmers market where locals shop for fresh produce along with gourmet goods, flowers, crafts and ready-made foods. Some of our favorites spots: for Dinner: Davanti Enoteca (highly recommend getting the Ricotta Vasi as a starter! SO YUM) for Dessert: Salt & Straw has DELICIOUS ice cream

Baseball

Baseball

Petco Park & Angel Stadium,

Take me out to the ball game (x 2). Tanner goes for the baseball, Alexis goes for the nachos (lol). There are two nearby options for MLB. An hour north of Temecula are the Anaheim (LA) Angels and an hour south are the San Diego Padres. Both are beautiful parks and always a fun time! Check teams' schedules for game times and pricing.
