Travel Note
Airport (ABQ Sunport) is just 10–20 minutes from central Albuquerque. Rideshares (Uber/Lyft), taxis, and hotel shuttles are available. If you plan to explore beyond the city, consider renting a car — Albuquerque is spread out and public transport is limited.
House Or Rental
If you’d rather stay in a home, here are safe, central, and convenient neighborhoods for Airbnbs: Old Town / Sawmill – Walkable, charming, close to museums, the BioPark, and lots of restaurants. Great if you want to be near the wedding events. Downtown / EDo (East Downtown) – Lively, with restaurants, bars, and coffee shops nearby. Great for those who like a little nightlife. Nob Hill / UNM Area – Fun, eclectic neighborhood with Route 66 vibes, coffee shops, and local boutiques. North Valley / Los Ranchos – Quieter, greener area with big cottonwood trees and beautiful walking paths. Northeast Heights (near Uptown or near Sandia foothills) – Suburban feel, safe, with shopping and access to hiking in the Sandia Mountains. ⚠️ Areas to avoid: Airbnbs near the International District or far South Valley may be less safe and farther from main attractions. Stick with the neighborhoods above for peace of mind.
Travel Note
If you’re making a mini-vacation out of the wedding, here are some favorites: Old Town Albuquerque – historic plaza with shops, galleries, and restaurants. Sandia Peak Tramway – breathtaking views of the city and mountains. ABQ BioPark – zoo, aquarium, and botanic gardens all in one. Nob Hill – vintage Route 66 shopping and restaurants. Day trips – Santa Fe is about an hour away for art, food, and historic charm.
