Jen and Lex met in 2012 at Elway’s Steakhouse, where Jen was a hostess and Lex a valet. Lex was the sweet little angel, and Jen was the flirt. No wait. For over three years Lex and Jen danced around their attraction for each other, each logically knowing the other was no match, but both feeling butterflies when the other was nearby. The beauty of such a beginning was that they could each be fully authentic and honest, knowing that they were so different. Their personal lives differed tremendously, leading to a curiosity about each that bred hours-long phone calls. That is, until Lex professed his love while Jen was studying abroad. The mirror made of “this will never work out, so let’s never try” was cracked forever. Jen feigned surprise and the two lost contact for some time (mostly thanks to Lex being dramatic and blocking Jen). Yet the power of their bond persevered. Jen made a habit of coincidentally running into Lex at the various store locations he worked in. Lex succumbed to her flaunting and galavanting, and asked Jen out on a date. Of course, Jen declined. Winning his attention was more important than winning a free meal. But Lex persisted. “You’d tell a kid they have to try broccoli before they’re allowed to pass judgement on whether they liked it or not” he’d tell her. Jen finally relented and tried broccoli. Broccoli turned into a kiss. A kiss turned into love. Though beginning with vastly different roots, their vines, their friends, their lives, have grown together. 10 years later, Jen and Lex are excited to celebrate the unity of two unique souls into one with their closest family and friends. Thank you for taking the journey, and for being a truly integral part of our lives.
