Our story started with a cup of coffee on a rainy afternoon. Ash's family wanted to see what a Starbucks in America was like so in he walked with everyone on the phone. I saw him walk through the doors and although I normally avoided talking to customers at all costs, I had to take his order; a grande sugar free vanilla latte. It would take me over a month to memorize his order since I got so nervous every time he came in, but I eventually figured it out. Ash had his usual order and sat in his usual place almost every day. We would talk as I made his coffee and catch glances of each other while I worked but we could never seem to work up the courage to go farther. My go to move was to talk loudly to my coworkers about things that Ash might find interesting in the hopes that he could hear, and his go to was to "look out the window" while secretly watching my reflection. Finally, after a few months, we both decided to get over ourselves and ask each other out. It even happened on the same day! I was running late for my shift and saw him sitting there but got so nervous I had to hide in the back for a few minutes. When I came out, we had our usual small talk, but while I made his coffee, I also wrote my phone number on the back of some receipt paper. Ash took it but wasted no time asked me out on the spot. I wanted to leave right then but I still had about 8 hours of my shift left so we decided on the car show Concours d'Elegance and the rest is history!
