If the formal invitation says, "and Guest," then please do! Otherwise, we'd rather it was just you.
The dress code for our wedding is garden party "festive." Translation from Brides.com: "Basically, guests are given the go-ahead to have fun and play with their look. Opt for cocktail party attire featuring bolder colors and playful accessories. Women should wear a cocktail dress or party dress in a fun color paired with playful accessories and heels or dressy flats. Men should sport a suit, jazzed up with a bright tie or creative pocket square."
Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens, located at: 420 Anderson St., Durham, NC 27705. The ceremony will take place at the Page-Rollins White Garden (with a rain plan of the Doris Duke Center). The reception will take place on the lawn next to the Doris Duke Center. For additional directions and transportation options please visit: https://gardens.duke.edu/directions
We would love for your children to come. If you would instead prefer a night off, let us know if we can help arrange childcare.
Weather permitting both the ceremony and reception will be outdoors. Also, given that the wedding will *hopefully* be outside in a garden, we highly encourage people to remember to take their allergy medicine before attending!
Yes, you may park in the Duke Garden's "Upper Lot" for free. The lot is very close to the ceremony. However, if you plan on enjoying the open bar, please plan to Uber or Lyft. Durham is very Uber/Lyft friendly. We will additionally be providing transportation to and from Duke Gardens from the hotel blocks (more details re: timing of shuttles forthcoming).
We sure hope you’ll be able to join us! With your invitation, there is an RSVP card that you can fill out and return, or feel free to click the RSVP tab right here on our website.
