We first met while volunteering with mutual friends at an adaptive surfing event in Virginia Beach. There wasn’t much of a chance to get to know each other that day. Several months passed before we met again at a similar event in Northern Virginia where Caroline was living at the time. A few months later we ran into each other at a friend’s birthday party in Pittsburgh. After the party Brandon got a hold of Caroline’s number and asked her out to dinner. Neither of us would have ever dreamed that just a few days short of two years after first meeting on the beach in Virginia, we would be standing at the altar getting married.
On a beautiful warm spring evening, Brandon asked Caroline to go on a walk to the point in downtown Pittsburgh. A walk on a nice night is a normal thing for us, however this time Brandon had something in his pocket and a question to ask. When we got to the point Brandon asked, “do you know how much I love you?” Anticipating the moment Caroline replied, “I have a feeling I’m about to find out!” With that, on one knee, and ring in hand, the question came. Neither of us have been able to stop smiling since.
Before our immediate families in an intimate ceremony we became husband and wife! It was a beautiful day, in a beautiful place. From the wedding venue to the rooftop reception, it was truly picture perfect. Something we will never forget! While we didn't get to have everyone we would have liked to share in our day, we have been overwhelmed by the love and support shown to us in this season. "And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony." Colossians 3:14
