Our love story is the embodiment of God sparking a little flame that changes everything and brings new life. Anthony and I went to the same church for months—going to the same events and talking with the same friend groups—but somehow, we never ran into each other. At a young adults event, we met for the first time! From our very first conversation, everything was seamless, and it felt like we were friends who hadn’t seen each other in years. For the rest of the event, we were in our own world, talking about any and everything. We ended up being the last guests there, and we both left enamored with each other, feeling deeply drawn together. We were distantly interested in each other for a while. Every time we crossed paths, we picked up right where we left off, and the world seemed to fade from craziness to just us. After a few weeks of “random” intentional conversations, Anthony asked me out in the sweetest, simplest way after church one day. We planned to go to the beach with milkshakes in hand! We talked for hours until we had to leave because the parking lot was closing for the day. Anthony planned creative date nights, and with each date, the fire between us grew stronger and stronger. We were both slightly hesitant to label ourselves as dating because I was planning to teach abroad. Those plans changed, and it opened the floodgates of our love for each other. During our dates, we learned about each other’s hobbies, dreams, and interests in life. We started planning weekends together to travel and experience life as a couple. Through random date nights spent watching movies, playing Scrabble, and taking weekend road trips, we both knew in our hearts that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. God has answered so many of our prayers through this relationship, growing us both as individuals while also showing us what true joy and peace feels like. We are beyond excited to see what God has in store for this next chapter of our lives!
