We met at the beginning of 2021 when Tyler started working at AppFolio. A true Covid-era love story, we met entirely over Zoom. I was actually training Tyler, and his sense of humor and easy smile quickly made me feel comfortable. We got along immediately, and while Tyler was not as subtle as he’d like to think he was, I soon realized that this was something special. After countless evenings talking on the phone for hours, we decided it was time to take the next leap of faith, and Tyler flew out to Santa Barbara in June. The moment we met there was an instant joy and easiness that we still feel to this day. By the end of that weekend, Tyler told me that I was his person, and I felt the same way. Cliché as it may be, there is something to be said for “when you know, you know.” I had never been more sure of anything in my life. From then on, we split much of our time between Santa Barbara and Dallas thanks to both of us working remotely. Both of our families embraced us immediately and whole heartedly, which is easily one of the biggest blessings of joining our lives together. After too many flights to count, we packed up Tyler’s Jeep in February of last year and made the 1,519.6 mile (but who’s counting?) drive out to Santa Barbara. We are so looking forward to starting this next chapter, and hope to fill our lives with as much travel, family time, happiness, and adventure as we possibly can! We’re so grateful for our family, friends, and chosen family that we get to celebrate this very special time with. Hope to see you all at the wedding!
