We first crossed paths years ago at Long Beach State University, where we met through mutual friends. Life took us in different directions, but on March 13th, 2021, we reconnected on a camping trip to Big Sur—and that’s where our story truly began. There was an undeniable spark between us. Conversation came easily, laughter never stopped, and we quickly discovered how much we shared in common. That weekend planted the seed of something extraordinary. We couldn’t wait for what came next—another camping trip in Pismo Beach, an off-roading adventure in Utah, and a river trip in Bullhead City. Each adventure layered new memories on top of the last, and with every passing day it became clear: this connection was rare and it was meant to last. We discovered quickly how much we had in common and how beautifully our differences balanced one another. Both of us loved being active and playing sports (pickle ball, golf and now tennis), though Jake was a bit more of the natural athlete. Both of us loved watching sports, though Jake’s passion sometimes meant Lola got startled by the volume of his cheers. We shared a deep love of the outdoors—camping, backpacking, and exploring new trails—and yet we also cherished quiet evenings at home, cooking meals side by side, savoring good wine, and appreciating the simple joy of being together. Beyond hobbies and adventures, we shared traditions that grounded us. Our Friday night Shabbat dinners became a sacred rhythm—a chance to pause, reflect, and be grateful not just for the week that had passed, but for each other. It wasn’t always easy. From the very beginning, distance was part of our story—Sarah in Northern California, Jake in Southern California, and later, Sarah moving all the way across the country to Philadelphia for Physician Assistant school. But distance only deepened our love. Every trip to visit each other, every late-night phone call, every countdown to the next reunion became a reminder of the strength of our bond. We learned to lean on each other, to trust in the love that carried us through, and to never take our time together for granted. When Sarah graduated, we finally closed the gap, moving in together in Laguna Niguel with our sweet Lola marked the start of building a home and a life filled with laughter, adventure, and warmth. On October 5th, 2024, Jake proposed on a secluded mountaintop at Halter Ranch winery, overlooking the rolling hills of Paso Robles. It was a moment of pure magic—the culmination of all the miles traveled, all the adventures shared, and all the love that had grown stronger with every chapter of our story. As we look ahead, we feel nothing but gratitude. Gratitude for each other, for our families and friends who have supported us, and for the journey that has led us here. We are so excited to continue building our forever together—filled with love, laughter, adventure, and the comfort of always coming home to one another.
