How We Met

Between the Kentucky Derby, bourbon, teaching, and football, we knew we would have a lot to talk about on our first date. It wasn't until we both wondered if an appetizer, salad, and two pizzas would be enough food for two people that we knew this would be something special. One evening, after more successful dates, we attended a production of Les Miserables at Harvard-Westlake. "What should we say if people ask about us?" we asked ourselves. There wasn't much time to decide: when Jordan's cantor from temple ran into them at the play, Jordan awkwardly introduced Adam as her boyfriend, and we've been dating happily ever since. Now, almost six years later, we still talk about the Kentucky Derby (and named our dog after it), bourbon, teaching, and. . .well, let's just say we're a hockey family now. We still wonder whether we order enough food at restaurants, but what we have found to be most important is that we are together. We are so excited to be married, and we cannot wait to finally celebrate with you all on our special day! See you in Malibu!

The Proposal

During our summer in England, we took a weekend trip to Windermere in the Lake District. Blissfully rested after a cozy night at a B 'n' B, we ate a traditional English breakfast, boated on the lake, and took a long (and steep) hike through talkative sheep. Finding ourselves at the top of Brant Fell, surrounded by the harmonious mountains and lake, Adam told Jordan that she was the Rachel to his Ross and the Sherlock to his Watson, and he asked her to marry him. Jordan cried yes! We spent the rest of our summer abroad, celebrating this new chapter together!

The Wedding: Part 1

None of us could have expected what 2020 brought. While our wedding plans had to change, we knew that being married was the most important part of this celebration and decided to make it official. In the height of the pandemic, under the giant oak tree in Jordan's mom's backyard, we said "I do" in front of our immediate family. It was unlike anything we had originally planned, but it was perfect in every way. We can't wait to do it all over again with you all as our witnesses!
