Where it all began!

Alex Version: We would like to take a minute to thank Sean Rad. Without him none of this would be possible. If you don't know who Sean Rad is then you should probably do some soul searching and figure out what you are doing with your life. He is the man that changed Amelia and Alex's lives forever. It was a dark and stormy night, and all through his house not a creature was stirring, but Alex's thumb was making deft moves, swipe left! Swipe left! Swipe left! Then a gasp, who is this beauty he has laid his eyes upon. It was none other than, the one, the only, Amelia Rose Levine. She had curated such a fine Tinder profile that Alex was left with no choice other than to swipe right. MATCH! Amelia on the other hand was obviously inundated with matches on Tinder, but for some reason she was drawn to Alex's profile and could not have been happier when she learned they had matched. Eventually, the two met up at the zoo to start what would eventually be an eight hour date and would eventually turn into a 7 year relationship. Alex and Amelia have been through quite the ups and downs throughout their time together, but they could not be any happier to be getting married and starting their government sanctioned life together. Amelia Version: It was good ole Tinder - funny enough! In March of 2017 we both swiped & started planning our first date. Alex asked for drinks, I said hmmm maybe let's do something else? He then suggested an afternoon date at the Lincoln Park Zoo. We ended up meeting at the aptly named Swan Bridge (which Alex of course refuses to say, but instead calls it the duck bridge). We ended up talking & walking through the zoo until close, and then walked all the way to Old Town where we had dinner. It ended up being an 8 hour date & the perfect start to an absolutely wonderful relationship.

How He Proposed!

June 14th, 2022

Alex Version: The year was 2022. The month was June. The day was the 14th. It was a sweltering summer day. The sidewalks sizzled from being soaked with sunshine. Alex is in his living room pacing back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. The carpet looks worn from where is feet have struck. Amelia is at dinner without a care in the world. Alex wonders how long could a dinner possibly last, because we passed normal dinner length awhile ago. Time is crawling. Finally, Amelia appears. Alex and Amelia lock eyes through their living room windows. Alex knows the time has come. His arms feel heavy, his knees feel weak, his palms are sweating. The time has come. Amelia enters. She looks confused. Then it hits her. The time has come. Alex drops to one knee. The question is popped. Amelia says yes. The time has passed, and it was perfect. Amelia Version: I truly had no idea that he even had a ring yet. On June 14, 2022 I had spent the day with a friend at her pool & was enjoying the sunshine so much that I ran out of time to come home & clean up before heading out to dinner with another friend. So with 15 minutes until I had to leave for dinner, I put on something suitable to wear to a nice dinner and plopped my chlorine soaked hair into a high bun - not thinking twice about it. I ended up having a super long (multiple hour) dinner with Karen, not worrying about what Alex was doing at home. When I pulled up to the house, I noticed that all of the windows were drawn (which is one of my favorite things about our house) and that Alex was standing in the living room. We both did a funny little dance at eachother as I was walking up to the door - again - me not thinking twice about anything. When I got into the house I saw that Alex was dressed nicely, had a fresh haircut, and was just standing in the middle of the living room. Boom - it hit me. He asked me to join him & completely stunned I slowly walked to him. He told me how important I am to him, how wonderful our relationship is, and much more, and then got down on one knee and asked me to spend my life with him. Ahhhh!! The funny quick interlude here is that I had broken my ring finger just a few days earlier, so the second I realized what was happening I chucked the finger brace onto the couch - ya'll can see it in the video. I said "yes of course" without a question in my heart.

For all the days along the way
