Some BEAUTIFUL wineries and close enough for a day trip! About 1.5 hours south of LA and 45 north of San Diego.
Make a week of it by coming out early and seeing some of the breathtaking scenery California has to offer! Be sure to book Air B n B, cabin, or camping reservations early! :) Also, note in October, watch for the snow forecast as some of the roads can be closed during heavy snow!
The Happiest Place on Earth!! Also, they have the BEST CHURROS you'll ever taste!
The Huntington Library is in our neighborhood and is one of our favorite places to visit. It offers incredible gardens, art work, and 100s of acres of outdoors space. You can pack a picnic and enjoy the day here. :)
Possibly one of the most famous places to snap a photo in LA... the light posts on Wilshire. But even better is the huge amount of art inside! LACMA also sits next to the La Brea tar pits which is a pretty cool and interesting natural feature to check out!
The Getty Museum and Getty Villa are perhaps one of the most famous art galleries in the world and certainly in LA. The views from each are second to none. The Getty Museum also has an awesome tram that takes you to the museum up the side of a mountain... its not to be missed!
Malibu marks the beginning of the Pacific 1 highway which winds it way up to the north along the Pacific Coast. It offers some of the best scenery anywhere in the world and if you have time, definitely check it out.
Big Sur is my favorite place in all of California. The scenery, sweeping ocean views, wide open spaces, tall Red Wood trees, and sea breezes make it a must see. :)
One of the ONLY real castles in the United States... see how old hollywood used to live. It's jaw dropping and a place we always visit when we're up the coast. :)
If you're looking for some HEAT in a quaint little desert oasis, Palm Springs is a great place to soak it all in! Aside from the desert sun, there are some amazing mid-century houses to drive past if you're into architecture!
This place has it all AND it's all outdoors which is cool. :)
