Many years ago, at a wonderful place called Green Valley Bible Camp, Levi and I met. I'm a bit older than him. So, I typically interacted with kids closer to my age. However, through the years, there was some overlap due to our mutual nerdiness. Skip forward to the Summer 2021, and Levi and I were counseling during the same session that we attended as kids. We're trying our best to corral kids and teach them God's word, when behind the scenes, Jordan and Hayden were scheming. Hayden reached out to us individually and planted the idea in our minds. Why not give it a shot? I reached out at the beginning of August and by the beginning of September, we were going on our first date. Since I was in Arkansas and he was in Kansas, we decided to meet halfway in a town called Pittsburg, Kansas. It was about a two hour drive for the both of us. We met at Chili's and then went to a bookstore afterwards. We were both pretty awkward, but we both must have seen something that we liked because we decided to try again a few weeks later. He asked me out on our second date and we haven't looked back since. Levi, I feel, has for the most part been more confident in the relationship than me. While the official proposal happened in October 2022, I can remember washing dishes one night in my apartment while we were on the phone. I think it was in December of 2021. We had only been dating for four months when he asked me, the first time. I knew then that we would make it, but we wanted to make sure. After a year of dad jokes, nerdiness, and lots of traveling, he asked my parents one Sunday after church in September 2022. My Mother still laughs when she thinks back to that moment. Levi was so nervous, but my parents were so kind and simple with their answer. Yes! Immediately after he got his answer, all of the color returned to his face. We picked out a custom ring together in October and a few weeks later it came in. After asking me so simply months ago, Levi became tongue tied at the moment of truth. I didn't care though and said yes in the jewelry store. We've had a long, but amazing trip these last couple of years. We're so grateful for all of you whom have played important parts in our lives.
