We met as all the great romances do... on a dating app! After some chatting and shared humor, we decided to officially meet for coffee at The Mill. Coffee wasn't actually drank on the date, instead iced tea seemed better for a 105 degree summer day. Levi had the secret plan that if things went well at coffee he would take Kaitlyn to the Barred Owl rooftop bar across the street. Needless to say coffee did go well, and as the night went on it wasn't long before we both started to think this just might be something special.

On a trip to West Virginia to see Kaitlyn's childhood best friend Ashley and her family, we all went to dinner at the Bavarian Inn. The lawn was full of blooming cherry blossom trees, a perfect backdrop for where Kaitlyn was told that she would be taking family photos of her friends. As photos finished up, it was her and Levi's turn in front of the camera and as he turned towards her, grabbing both of her hands, it quickly dawned on her that they weren't just there for pictures. Under the cherry blossom tree, he got down on one knee and she said yes! The surprise proposal was pulled off, and we think it is summed up pretty well by Ashley's son, "I didn't know what was happening, but I knew it was something BIG!"
