Isannah's perspective: During my senior year of high school, I worked at CAL Ranch, a farm supply store where I met so many of my friends and *spoiler alert* family. One night, I was assigned to close with another coworker. I had yet to talk to Seth because he was new. Through small talk, Seth mentioned his son was a senior in high school and happened to go to the same school I did! I just switched to a new school my senior year, so I did not know anyone there. From that conversation forward, every time I saw Seth, he would show me pictures of his son, Levi, and tell me what they did over the weekend. This continued for roughly three weeks before Levi came to CAL Ranch to introduce himself. My first impression of Levi was masked with hesitancy because I knew his Dad was trying to set us up…. To my surprise, meeting Levi was not as uncomfortable as I anticipated. I noticed how easy it was to talk to him. His words were kind and I couldn’t help but notice his eyes. They were so beautiful! Before I knew it, we scheduled our first date at Kent’s Market (silly but definitely memorable)! I refused to call it a date because I wanted to hang out as friends, but we all know how that story ended. It’s so funny how life works out. Levi’s perspective: So, around 3 years ago, my Dad got a part-time job at CAL Ranch. At the time I was single. One day, he texted me saying “Hey, there’s this girl at my work that seems pretty cool if you’d like to meet her…” Well, CAL Ranch is a country store and I wasn’t really into the country women haha! But regardless, I agreed to come over one night and meet her. Upon seeing her I was quite shocked at how pretty she was. Then, as we started talking, I realized she had a really fun attitude that I’d like to get to know more. Well, as the days went on I started to really like having her around and getting to know her. We went on an unofficial date to Kent’s marketplace for lunch one day and Isannah bought a coconut… Why? I have no idea. But I liked her impulsive nature and that coconut shell is still around to this day.
Isannah’s perspective: At this point in our relationship, we have been dating for almost a year and a half. Levi and I had conversations on and off about getting married. We both settled on the fact that we did not want to get married too young, so we should wait until we were 21 years old. We had an upcoming trip to Belize and I remember having a conversation where Levi reassured me of the plan. I agreed and was fully on board. I truly expected nothing. I never saw any signs from Levi. He was so calm during the trip and acted just like himself. Towards the end of the trip, Rachael and Jake (Levi’s mom and stepdad) scheduled a day for us all to go on a dinner cruise. Unfortunately, the weather was a little unpredictable so the cruise was canceled. Rachael said we should all dress up nice and take cute beach pictures even if the dinner was canceled. We wandered the beach, up the pier, and round palm trees to find the best spot for pictures. Rachael said to do a “back-to-back” pose but then kept telling me to step forward because the picture wasn't right. I hesitated because I thought she was setting up that pose completely wrong until she told me to turn around. Low and behold Levi is not standing next to me. He was down on one knee asking me to marry him! I was in shock! I turned to Rachael and Jake, and then back to Levi to ask if this was real. If he was actually serious! It sure was. Levi perspective: Calm? I was anything but calm. Internally, there was a fair amount of worry and freaking out happening, especially whenever I’d start to think about what was coming up. See, we wanted to *possibly* get married by the time we turned 21, and, at the time of the trip, we were 19. So that was a fair amount away. But after much pondering and frantic conversations with my friends and family, I decided that this was going to be the trip I proposed. I felt Isannah was the one for me and honestly, I couldn’t imagine living without her. She made me feel complete. My step-dad Jake and mom (Rachael) were coming with us so I came up with a “keyword” for the proposal that would be said during the dinner cruise. The keyword was 'back-to-back' picture. We planned to take a few steps away from each other where I would have time to go down on one knee. Unfortunately, the cruise got canceled due to the weather and plans shifted a little bit, but honestly, the weather made the pictures so much better and everything worked out perfectly!
