Maid of Honor
The bride's one and only baby sister and best friend. It didn't start that way, though... The bride met Sarah when she was a squalling, bald infant and demanded their Mother return her to the local Walmart...post-haste. After many WWE wrestling matches and intense fights over Wet Seal shirts, the two have overcome their differences to become two peas in a pod, video game co-op champions, and the funniest comedy duo in America. Sarah is the type of gal to drop everything and handle something for someone she loves, making her invaluable to the wedding team. She loves playing Stardew Valley, being an awesome young Mom to two little ones, and those really intense adult coloring books. You'll find her at the wedding making sure the bride doesn't cry her makeup off, and having an extra cocktail because it’s her only night off away from her kids.
Man of Honor
Tanner met the bride during their legendary and illustrious stint in the Marshall University Speech and Debate Team, during which Tanner won too many awards to list here... and you wouldn't get it, anyway. Tanner and Hannah became best friends when she realized that he shared her love of yapping wayyyy too much. The two have been attached by the hip since 2018, which is inconvenient considering they live 2 hours apart. Tanner loves taking care of his expansive (and impressive) plant collection, binge-watching anime, and getting this wedding absolutely together at all costs. You'll find him at the wedding giving a beautiful speech, running around/going insane trying to achieve perfection, and throwing rowdy wedding guests into the pond out back. And you'll definitely hear his laugh.
Best Man
Drew and the groom have been best friends for so long, they're as good as brothers. Drew has been next to Levi at every stage of their lives-- from living just down the hill from him when they were young troublemakers, to now when they're complaining about how much running hurts their bodies while on adjacent treadmills. For every time Levi has said something embarrassing/horrible, Drew has been next to him burying his head in his hands and muttering "oh my God". The two have known each other in every phase of life, and they'll be playing Madden every week and going to the gym together for another 60 years. Drew loves sad movies, his chihuahua Timmy, and really good music. You'll find him at the wedding asking the bartender if there's any PBR, and likely crying during speeches.
Best Man
Alex and the groom have also known each other... forever. Alex and Levi hung out together a lot when they were younger and somehow got so smart and so good with computers that everyone was a little afraid. Everyone was afraid because they knew that Alex and Levi were destined for either greatness or felony charges for cyber warfare. Luckily, they chose greatness and both now lead successful, boring lives geeking out about things like online auctions and Elden Ring. Alex likes his car, games that are known for being difficult, tinkering with things around the house like a middle-aged man, his girlfriend Tati, and staying home. You'll find Alex at the wedding by the pond outside. I feel like he'll say something like "that's a nice pond", and just really appreciate the pond.
Bridesmaid
Tati and Hannah met each other through their partners, Alex and Levi, who are best friends. They just happened to also really like each other and form a really tight friendship, so it's honestly a really good thing both couples have ended up working out so well. Tati is known for being the most dependable person anyone knows, being absolutely brilliant, and just radiating sunshine. Everyone who talks to Tati goes, "wow, I really want to be her friend," and that's just the way it is. She loves to play video games, never look at her text messages, collect cats in her home (she's up to 3 so far!), cook as a love language, and make really cool character outfits for various cons. She is equal parts crafty and endlessly supportive, making her one of the best bridesmaids a bride could ask for. You can find Tati at the wedding making friends with absolutely everyone.
Bridesmaid
Sara and the bride met in an introductory Poli Sci class at Marshall University where they were the smartest and weirdest girls there. Hannah later recruited (converted) Sara to the MU Speech & Debate team where their friendship really flourished. Sara and Hannah share a similar love of horror, history, humor, and literature. They have matching YouTube algorithms and frequently message each other about whatever nerdy hyper fixation has hold of their attention at the time. She's been a loyal friend to the bride for years, and her presence means a lot. Sara loves library sciences, scary movies, and her two cats. She is the type of friend to drop everything and be there for you, and talk with you for hours, which makes her ideal bridesmaid material. You can find Sara at the wedding probably fixing the bride's dress, fixing a lopsided centerpiece... making sure it's all together and perfect.
Bridesmaid
Joelle met the bride in a journalism class together, but they didn't really click until their worlds collided the semester of Fall 2019. They were roommates together in Charleston for an internship, and formed a sisterhood during that. Joelle and Hannah frequently bond over Real Housewives and getting dinner together, and frequently lament about how hard it is to be a woman in the world today. Joelle is ambitious, witty, and the kind of quiet glamorous that makes you wonder... Bethenny Frankel *who*? Joelle likes brat summer, a classy pair of gold hoop earrings, and being one of those cool girls who have 5-6 sophisticated staple pieces in their wardrobe that they rotate. At the wedding, you'll find Joelle sitting quietly somewhere in a super glam way, sipping champagne.
Bridesmaid
Jackie is the first and closest friend in Columbus that the bride has made since moving, and for that, she's a super important part of her life. Jackie and the bride have frequent Girls Nights in which they consume Kroger wine and sushi and scream at the castmates of Love is Blind-- a sacred and holy tradition. Jackie is going to ensure every party is a party. She is the friend who's most likely to get on the dancefloor with you, hype you up before a night out, and overall just be a great good-time companion. She is bubbly, funny, dependable, and loves a good craft. Jackie loves her cats, making bracelets for her friends, staying active, and cheese pizza. You can find her on the dancefloor at the wedding, guaranteed.
Groomsman
The groom's level-headed and quiet older brother, Brett is one of those people who is constantly analyzing a room. Definitely the more good-natured, docile Lilly brother, Brett is definitely the nicest one in the wedding party. Nobody really knows what he's truly thinking, which is slightly disconcerting (what are you hiding behind that smile, Brett...?), but he's here to bring some stability to an otherwise wild-card lineup of groomsmen. Brett enjoys and is quite good at playing guitar, but stop asking him if he knows how to play that one song. It gets really old, okay? Brett also likes video games and being a great uncle to his nephews and niece. You'll find Brett at the wedding having a good one-on-one conversation with somebody, and you'll do a double-take because you'll be like... wow. That sort of looks like Levi.
Groomsman
Levi's little brother who he shared a room with for most of his childhood, Garrett and Levi have always had a very close bond. Garrett followed in his big brother's footsteps by being very interested in coding, games, and general technological talents that this author can't begin to understand. He consistently impresses his big brother, and everyone is excited to see what he cooks up. He is also good at making Levi laugh, which, is a feat considering the groom's *specific* taste in humor. Garrett is somebody who is going to be quiet for people who do not know him, and absolutely magnetic and hysterical for the people who do. If you're one of the many that have to miss out... sorry. Garrett's cool. You'll find Garrett at the wedding next to his brothers, sharing inside jokes with them that none of us can hear. And they're probably really good, too.
Groomsman
Nick is another groomsman that Levi goes way back with, and is still consistently in his life. Nick not only gets points for having the coolest last name among the wedding party, but he also consistently knows the best ramen and pho spots in town. He has a lot of natural leadership qualities that make him an excellent groomsman, and he'll keep the others in check when it's time to get to business. Nick loves the Seahawks (so I'm sure there are implications there for the many people at this wedding who like football), being a bit of a workaholic, and board games with friends. We can always count on him to get the large bowl of pho and never finish it. Nick can be found at the wedding nursing a headache in the quiet room because he went too hard too early during the mens' getting ready time.
