Levi and Courtney were set-up by their two friends who were dating at the time (now married), Alex and Alex. Alex Haggerty was one of Courtney's best friends at Saint Vincent, where she, Alex Brydon and Courtney all attended undergrad. Levi was best friends with Alex Brydon since middle school. They agreed the two would be a good match, so the four of them went on a group date in the Strip district just after New Year's. It turns out they were right, and Courtney and Levi are forever grateful to them.

Courtney had always wanted to do a rotation abroad with her company, EY, where she works as a CPA in the audit practice. Levi was completely on board with the idea, so they started exploring various opportunities. With Courtney's experience in oil and gas and Levi's love of hiking and the outdoors, Norway seemed like a great fit. Although it was originally a 2-year rotation, they loved it so much they extended one additional year. Between the beautiful hikes, amazing scenery and wonderful friends, it has been the experience of a lifetime. They will return in August of 2022 to begin their next chapter in the USA.

On Friday, September 10th, Levi came home from work and asked to take a walk up to Vålandstårnet, a lookout tower in their neighborhood, to see a tall ship that was in the harbor. This is a normal request from Levi and one of their favorite spots to walk to given the beautiful view of Stavanger (especially during the height of the pandemic, when daily walks were a favorite past time). They were supposed to meet some friends that night for a special dinner to celebrate their 2 year anniversary in Norway, so they got ready and headed up the hill. Levi asked a very kind stranger to take a photo of them, and completely shocked Courtney when he got down on one knee. We cannot thank that stranger enough for the beautiful photos he took of the entire thing (he managed to turn on burst mode, giving us photos of almost every second of the moment). It was a very easy yes for Courtney, and they cannot wait for the wedding to celebrate with everyone they love.
