Lev and Brenna first met in 2011 at James Madison University in the Delta Gamma Sorority basement over a game of Apples to Apples. After dating for two years in college, they went their separate ways-- ironically, due to distance. After college, Brenna went to Northern Virginia to be a teacher, and Lev went to Charlotte, NC then New York to be an investment banker. Six years later, Lev was in San Francisco and truly an entire continent away. Lev messaged Brenna on instagram a picture of a Starbucks Cake Pop and Brenna responded immediately. After reconnecting, they talked on the phone for hours and Lev flew out to visit just a week later! Things moved quickly from that point as Lev and Brenna both knew it was meant to be. The couple got engaged when Lev surprised Brenna with a proposal at JMU's "Kissing Rock" on February 15th, 2020 in what they refer to as "birthgagementines weekend" (a combination of valentines day, engagement, and Brenna's birthday). Brenna promptly burst into happy tears, but then pulled it together when she realized there was a camera present. Brenna and Lev continued to date long distance until Brenna moved out to California that summer of 2020, by which time the pandemic was in full swing. In true Lev and Brenna fashion, they decided planning a wedding from across the country during a pandemic seemed like a great idea and, in the words of Tim Gunn, they "made it work." Lev and Brenna are eternally grateful to the friends and family who have loved, supported and helped them along the way <3
