After postponing our wedding from September to May, we had to make the difficult decision to narrow our guest list to comply with Maine COVID restrictions. After planning, changing plans, postponing, cutting our guest list, and a whirlwind of emotions, we can't believe our big day is on the horizon. We are so excited to celebrate with our closest family and friends! While the world is looking more hopeful each day, the health and safety of our guests remains our top priority. We will be updating this section regularly with any updates to Maine COVID guidelines, so please be sure to check back as our wedding day nears. As of April 2021, Maine will not require face masks to be worn outdoors. This means that at our outdoor tented wedding, masks are not mandatory. Everyone at our wedding will be fully vaccinated except two guests who are under the age of 18. Masks are required indoors. Restaurants and bars are required to hold tables of no more than 8 people, please be mindful of this when making any reservations. ... well not really. We were at the ripe age of 18 years old when we embarked on our journey to Fairfield University's freshman orientation. Not knowing what to expect, but eager as ever, we were both the "aggressively friendly" people who volunteered for all participation opportunities. Our orientation groups were paired together and it wasn't long until Alli asserted her dominance in beating Lev in "birdy on a perch", an awkward game that involves jumping on a strangers back. After overhearing about Alli's stereotypical teenage girl love for Dave Matthew's Band, Lev quickly Googled "songs by Dave Matthew's Band" and hit it off instantly. When freshman year began, our connection was undeniable and we started dating right away. We shared many late-night walks through the quad, stargazing on Bellarmine hill, endless parties with our friends, and putting on the freshman 15. Although never perfect, our relationship grew as we did and together we have tackled every one of life's adventures.
During our time at Fairfield, we found our forever friends and made some of our most cherished memories. We're totally over graduating, seriously, like who would even want to go back? Over the years, as we were thankful to see the size of our friend group grow, one constant was always how we were able to grow together. Whether it was forming stronger bonds with each other's families or navigating accidentally getting stuck overnight in Rome when studying abroad, we quickly realized what we had was truly special. As we approached graduation, we knew we were ready for our next chapter of moving in together. We got our first apartment in Stamford, CT where we received 3 noise complaints and managed to conquer human Tetris -fitting all of our friends for grown-up sleepovers. We lived in Stamford for 3+ years, where we grew our careers and got engaged, forever solidifying Connecticut as a very special place in our hearts. In June 2019, Lev received an amazing offer that he couldn't pass up. We traded in our snow boots for cowboy boots and moved to the Lonestar state, calling Austin, TX home. We immediately fell in love with the beautiful scenery and realized just how terrible our bug fears really were. After two weeks in Austin, we decided to grow our family a little more. We adopted a Tiny Bernedoodle puppy named Noodle who joined the Macht-Greenberg home in early December 2019. We love her so very much! In March 2021, we bought our first home together in Austin. We are loving the challenge of trying to figure out home owning and Noodle is very excited about her new yard! Through all of life's changes and adventures, our crazy ideas and our impulsive decisions, one thing has always remained the same: our overwhelming love for one another. We couldn't be more excited to take on marriage, puppy parenting, and a cross country move!
