We met in Middle School art class, thinking nothing of each other, and not knowing our journeys would cross times after that. Throughout High School, we were on very different routes, but found ourselves on the same path towards the end of our high school careers. Things changed, college started, and we entered new phases of our lives. We traveled in opposite directions for a couple of years, while still remaining friends. It wasn't until the summer after our sophomores years of college that we realized how much we had in common, how similar we were, and how much we enjoyed each other's company. From then on, there was no looking back - we both found the life long romance we had been looking for.
It was a beautiful Wednesday morning, and we had planned to go kayaking on The Black Water River in Milton, Florida. This was a place we had gone before and fallen in love with. The perfect place to drive our cars up, drop the kayaks in, and enjoy a care-free paddle down the river in the middle of nowhere. I think we love it so much because it feels just like the isolation of being in the woods of New Hampshire. We started our paddle down pretty early and it was quite hot that morning. Part way down the river, we decided to stop and swim. We sat in the shallow water, chatted, and just enjoyed cooling off. Moments later, Jeff reached in his swimsuit pocket, got on one knee in the sand, and made me the happiest woman in the world. Everything about that moment was perfect.
We decided to rent a tiny home along Pensacola Bay for our weekend that would allow us to escape from our daily routine and experience that 'get-away' feeling. We arrived at the tiny home on July 3, on a sunny, Friday afternoon. Our dogs, Remy and Milo loved the set up immediately - right on the water which meant swimming whenever, a large yard to play and run around in, and a friend to play with as our AirBNB owners also had a dog! After being there for an hour, everything already felt perfect. We enjoyed our wedding eve with drinks in hand, sitting in our beach chairs, and looking off into the bay. We woke up on our wedding day and relaxed all morning, played with the dogs and enjoyed the beautiful weather we had been blessed with that day. We had our ceremony with our Justice of the Peace and photographer at 4:00 pm right on the water with blue skies above and it felt like a dream. Post ceremony, we celebrated with champagne, a cake cutting, and each other's company. We later ended our night with our chairs in the water, watching fireworks being performed overhead! Although our day was not initially how we had planned, everything worked out perfectly like it was always meant to be that way. We are so blessed to have the supportive family and friends that we do and can not wait to celebrate with you all on July 3, 2021!
