There is so much to do in Downtown Charleston! Here is a list of some of our favorites: Parks: Waterfront Park and the Pineapple fountain, the Battery, Marion Square, Rainbow Row Shopping: King street, Charleston Market (Market street) Restaurants/Bars: Henry's on the Market, Fleet Landing, The Blind Tiger, The Vendu Roof deck, The Griffon Breweries: Lo-Fi, Bevi Bene, Tradesman, Munkle, Fatty's, Brew Lab, Cooper River, Revelry, Palmetto, Chucktown
The Pitt Street Bridge was once a trolley bridge that connected Sullivan's Island and Mount Pleasant. Loaded with history dating back to the Revolutionary War, this linear park boasts beautiful marsh and water views! Many people walking the dock will spot fisherman and cabbing
Shem Creek is a hot spot in Mount Pleasant. There is a boardwalk in which you can walk out and observe the beautiful views of the Creek opening up into the Charleston Harbor as well as views from downtown. There is a variety of dining options on the creek, we reccomend grabbing a snack on the deck at Saltwater Cowboys. Being right on the creek, it is quite often a hot spot for dolphin sitings.
Poe's Tavern is themed after Edgar Allan Poe, who was stationed on Sullivans Island in 1827. While he was here, he wrote "The Gold-Bug". A great spot to stop for a drink and some food, our favorite snack is the buffalo shrimp!
If you have the time and are interested in seeing the area we live, We would recommend driving through James Island (the town we live in) and check out Folly Beach (where we got engaged!). It is a laid back beach town, with restaurants, bars and beautiful views!
