Fran is my life coach and I hope that when I grow up, I can be just like her. She is a constant source of encouragement and is always there when I need her even when she’s hundreds of miles away.

Where do I even start with this one. Julie has been my go to through this entire process. She is always there to keep me on track, make me smile and improve my hugging ability. Julie is simply a rockstar.

I forced Jennifer to be my friend in high school and somehow she doesn’t have a restraining order against me yet! Jennifer has seen me at my best and worst and has loved me through it all. I’m so thankful for Jennifer and her friendship!

Becca and I became friends when I took her job! Well not really took it as much as volunteered for the job once she moved on to bigger and better things. Becca is like a wise owl. She has more life experience in her pinky finger than I do in my entire 23 years. She is so patient and kind!

I can’t wait for Robyn to be my sister!! Robyn has been so kind and welcoming ever since I first met her. She may be little but she is definitely fierce and has done a great job keeping Rob in line all these years!
Groomsman
Mike and I met in first grade, but it wasn’t until high school that we became great friends. It was during this time that we bonded over sports, our video game abilities (Mike was certainly better!), and knack for doing our school assignments at the last minute (often while playing said video games), but still at a higher quality than many of our peers.

Dan and I became friends during college at Temple University. Both of us were in the business honors program and we met during the social and volunteering events the group had. We eventually became roommates and spent many an hour wandering around the city searching out good food and beer and just enjoying the fresh air. I’ve always admired Dan’s ability to take on challenges that people said he couldn’t do, arguably none more impressive than hiking the entire Appalachian trail and gaining the trail name ‘Animal’ along the way!

Zach and I became friends when I joined the PhD program at UGA and met him and his wife Kate—who was in the program and would also become a great friend. In addition to talking sports and hanging out at breweries (where the two of us wanted nothing more than to avoid PhD related discussions), we played many tennis matches. One of the high points of my life was tying Zach in a set (that we had to call due to it getting late)! Sara and I look forward to visiting Zach, Kate, and their son George in Oregon, where they now live.

I also first met Abbie in the PhD program and in the beginning she just couldn’t get rid of me—we sat back-to-back in the shared office space. Over the years though, we have grown close, and I truly don’t know if anyone can have a better friend than Abbie. She’s let me borrow her extra car when I got in a fender bender, hang out at her parent’s lake house, planned excursions during conferences abroad, and been a constant source of support during the ups and downs of the PhD program.

It’s crazy how many great friends you can make from your PhD program—Tyler is another one of those. Tyler and Rob bonded over playing and watching sports (including an eventful trip to the Masters) and figuring out the how to play the game that is the PhD program and academic life. No one is also more willing to go grab some unhealthy food than Tyler. Sara and I look forward to seeing where life takes Tyler, his wife Emma, and their twin boys—Gus and Burns!
Dog of Honor
Greta is our first child and we absolutely adore her. She enjoys pulling all her toys out of her bin after we put them away, pawing our faces and chasing anything that moves. She also enjoys spending hours at the dog park and sniffing her boyfriend, Henry, when walking at Oconee Veterns Park. The people at the vet call her an absolute delight and we tend to agree!
