Joe and I met on a dating app in August 2018. We talked for about a week before officially having our first date at The Alley Light in Charlottesville. I wanted to play it safe and just grab drinks, but 3 hours later we both had wished we'd done dinner too. Date #1 was so successful that we met up for date #2 a few days later and as they say the rest is history! We are beyond excited to celebrate with you all and continue building our lives together!

Pretty early on we both new marriage was in the future for us, it was just a matter of when! Joe asked me about ring styles I liked back in Feb 2020 (right before the pandemic hit) on our trip to Savannah. I told him I 100% wanted the proposal to be a surprise. Fast forward through 2020 and we had a long weekend trip planned with his cousins over New Years for my belated 30th birthday. While I sensed the proposal may happen in the near-ish future, I was convinced he would not do it on this trip. While we were away, on January 2nd, Joe said he wanted to spend the day just the two of us so we made plans to go to a nearby winery. At the winery we had a red wine flight and chatted about our goals for 2021. I absolutely slid in a comment about how I was hoping we were working closer towards getting engaged, little did I know exactly how close we actually were! After finishing our flight we decided to head back to the rental home. As we were walking to the car he grabbed my arm and spun me around, only for me to realize he was down on one knee with a ring in hand! I'm pretty sure I blacked out for a moment and said "You're doing this right here? Now?!" Of course, "YES" followed quickly thereafter! We immediately called our parents to celebrate via Facetime and continued celebrating with his cousins that night! It was the perfect, most surprising start to 2021! And we cannot wait until our wedding in November!
