We said Yes!

Growing up everywhere, Gabriel soon found his home in California. Originally from Utah, Gabriel and his family have moved all over the country. He’s lived in North Carolina, Arizona, Tennessee, Florida, Italy, and now California. Shelly has lived in California her whole life. She has always had an immense love for music, food, and travel. Gabriel and Shelly met through work. Their managers at the time introduced them, and there was an instant connection. While her beauty and his charm first brought them together, it was their hearts that made them inseparable. They have bonded over their love of food and great music. Their first date was an unforgettable experience. After getting a suggestion for a restaurant with hints of information and vague directions, they found themselves lost and at a completely different location. The place had an insurmountable obstacle- the menu was in a completely different language, there were no pictures on the menu (LOL), and there was a language barrier between the couple and staff. After blindly ordering things by pointing, they were all the more anxious and eagerly awaiting their dinner. The food ended up bringing an unexpected transformational experience. We had found in each other a partner willing to support the other, the willingness to be vulnerable in our uncertainty, and eagerness to take the leap anyway; the pastabilities were endless. (We also learned that we will always order enough for an army, so we had better get used to leftovers😂) After many adventures together in just four years- from camping trips to music festivals to skating and hiking trails to traveling all over - Gabriel proposed. It is often said that the first date can tell you a lot about the relationship to come. If that’s the case then, no matter what we go through, while we may not always know what we’re doing; we will have each other, appreciate the moment, and always have more than we need because of how excited we were with all the choices available.
