So the “first” time we met was actually the true second time we met. Basically, the real first time was a brief attempt by Nathan asking, "Hey, you're Emilie right?" as I rushed past him while hosting a birthday party the very beginning of our junior year of college (2013). I quickly responded "yes" and that was the end of that story. ...Fast forward a few months. Now we're at the "first" time we met. We both happened to be dragged out to "Thursday College Night" at Peppino's (which was a happening thing at GVSU for those who may not know). Nathan approached me again, with the signature "Hey, you're Emilie right?" line but this time he actually caught my attention. We spent the rest of the night talking each other's ears off and he even walked me all the way back to my car (which was parked over a mile away at a friend's apartment) in about 30° weather with no coat. Since that night, we remained in constant contact through nonstop texting conversations and running into each other on the weekends, which quickly turned into us becoming almost inseparable it seemed. We didn't become "official" until June 2014 and our friends LOVE to point out how we would continuously deny any accusations of being interested in each other for months. 5+ years later... We're finally able to truly commit to admitting our interest in each other for the rest of our lives. Special shout out to all the people who have supported this since day 1.
