Thanks to a little app and a lot of fate, Nate and Alyssa met on Bumble in August 2022, just after Nate moved to Pittsburgh. That's right, Alyssa made the first move! Their first date consisted of Alyssa driving to Nate's Pittsburgh apartment (which is a big deal if you know her fear of the car lol) and going out to eat at their now favorite taco shop. After that, the rest is history! They became inseparable and spent tons of time together exploring the city, long car rides back to Alyssa's house, Penguins games, adventures with friends, and everything in between. A few months later, they met one another's families and celebrated their first holidays together, including their birthdays which are both the week of Christmas! Since Nate spent most of his time at Alyssa's house anyway, he moved in with her the summer before his senior year of college. They enjoyed every moment together, even with the long days driving to and from Pittsburgh. Not long after, they gained a family member and brought their puppy Maeve home, who quickly became their entire world. Nate proposed to Alyssa at the Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens after taking her back to their first date spots including the zoo, and Doce Taqueria. They spent the weekend at the Monaco Hotel and enjoyed dinner at one of their favorite Pittsburgh restaurants. The last few years have been a testament to how much love they share for one another, and how they were meant to be from the very beginning!
