Cole had told me that we were going to dinner with some friends Friday night. As I was getting ready, he went outside to “turn the Christmas lights on.” I finished up my hair and walked out into the kitchen with my makeup bag in hand (because I always do it while he drives). I noticed a little envelope with my name on it sitting on the counter, but walked past it into the garage to see if Cole was waiting on me in the car. His car was gone. I ran back to the envelope and ripped it open to see that it said “I stole the dog. Your first clue is waiting in your car.” He sent me on a scavenger hunt to all of my favorite places - our gym, Starbucks, Bruster’s, and finally ending in Downtown Duluth, where we shared our first apartment together. I cried after seeing “fiancé” was written as the name on my Starbucks cup. I cried again when I opened my last clue at Bruster’s. When I finally got to the Duluth Town Green, I practically ran to our meeting spot. He was waiting for me next to the Christmas tree, where he asked me to be his WIFE! After he put the ring on my finger, he said “look who’s here” and I looked up to see both of our families, including my grandma and uncle who came all the way from Tampa to surprise me! Millie was even wearing a bandana that said “She Said Yes.” Then, I was told that we were going home to drop Millie off before going to dinner to celebrate, but when we got home, all of our closest friends were already there for a surprise engagement party. The whole thing was a dream!
