Travel Overview

Washington, D.C. is both easy to get to and easy to get around in once you're here. Our church, Saint Patrick's, and wedding venue, The Hotel Monaco DC, are located right in the heart of the city. There are a plethora of hotels within walking distance and/or a quick Uber ride from our venues. DC houses three major airports: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles Intranational Airport (IAD), and Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI). DCA is the closest airport to the city (~15 minute ride), with IAD and BWI being a bit further away (both ~40 minute ride). DC is a relatively small city, and as a result, almost everything can be accessed within 20 minutes via Uber/Lyft once here. Car rentals are available, but we wouldn't recommend it. All of our recommended hotels are within a short walking distance of or a quick Uber ride to the wedding venue, but any location in DC or in Arlington, Virginia, should be close enough! We do have a room block at the Hotel Monaco - where the reception will take place. You can get to and from all three airports by train (typically much cheaper than Uber/Lyft). The DC metro (subway) goes directly to DCA via the Yellow or Blue Line and to Dulles via the Silver Line. The MARC train can be used to get to and from BWI (via DC's Union Station).
