To our friends and family, As April closes in, we are reminded of two things, neither of which are very uplifting. First, we are closing in on what would have been our anniversary as a married couple. The other reminder that April brings is the fact that we are entering a second year of COVID-19. The pandemic has impacted millions of people in countless ways; weddings are no exception. As you know, we had to changes our plans to accommodate pandemic restrictions and to do our best to celebrate responsibly in a time of global crisis. After so many attempts at planning a wedding, we have decided to push forward with this one. We have changed the wedding location to a new venue in Osprey, Florida. This decision was relatively easy to make. The second and more difficult decision concerned our guest list. Current restrictions severely limit how many people can attend social gatherings. As such, we have had to reduce the number of guests by roughly 75%. Our dream wedding involved every one of our friends and family. Unfortunately, that is just not possible given the current climate. Margaret and I have been wrestling with the guest list for weeks now. It is not a task either of us wanted, but it was something that needed to be done. We pared our list of 200 guests down to about 60. There were several factors that we focused on, including distance needed to travel, family structure, and how much risk we would be putting you in if you were to attend. We wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you through all of this. While our ideal wedding would have everyone in attendance, we made decisions to reduce the number to insure everyone’s safety as best we could. We are truly sorry that we won’t get to see everyone on our (third) big day, but we hope to be able to celebrate with you all soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make some of the toughest decisions we’ve had to face as a couple. With love, Tyler & Margaret
Dear Family and Friends, Under the current circumstances of COVID-19, with sadness we have decided to postpone the celebration of the marriage of Margaret Hazlett and Tyler Raible scheduled for April 4, 2020. We have identified a NEW date for the wedding celebration of Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at new location, The Oaks Country Club in Osprey, Florida. It is with a heavy heart that we are moving our wedding for the 4th time. Not only are we having to plan a brand new wedding for a new venue and new location, we had to make the difficult decision to limit the wedding to less than 60 people (with a bridal party of 20 alone). So if you have spoken to us or received the invitation, you will be attending; for those who have not, I deeply apologize for the inconvenience but is our duty to be socially responsible. Anyone with hotel reservations at the Embassy Suites in Blue Ash, OH, we have arranged for the hotel to CANCEL ALL those reservations made through the link previously supplied. We expect you will be receiving notices from the Embassy Suites hotel in the next week or so. In due course, please give attention to any new reservations and your plans to attend which can be found in the travel section of our wedding website. We love and value our relationships with each one of you, and hope everyone understands the need for caution in these current, challenging times. In the meantime, be safe and be well, and we will look forward to our celebration in Osprey on May 15th, 2021. Thank you. Love, Tyler, Margaret, and family For updates or concerns, please email us at Mittyhazlett@gmail.com or Raiblet@gmail.com. Otherwise, all details will be posted on this website. We hope everyone is staying safe, and we look forward to FINALLY celebrating together on Saturday, May 15th!
Tyler and Margaret met in 2010 as sophomores at Xavier University. They became best friends, playing video games, watching shows, and attending conventions together, but could never be more than friends as they were both in different relationships. Throughout the years, they were ships passing in the night. They went on one date in 2013, which was the best date of their lives, but then had to go separate ways for graduate school. The two remained in touch, always meeting up at cons and savoring their stolen moments together, speaking of “what if’s” or “in another lifetime” until 5 A.M. One day, when Margaret was attending a friend’s wedding, she noticed the groom watching the bride walk down the aisle and thought to herself “no one will ever look at me like that.” And then she realized... “Tyler looks at me like that every day.” She finally admitted to herself how she felt and told Tyler. The two talked, took the leap, and made travel arrangements to see one another. In November 2017, they had their first kiss...and it was magical. Their relationship sprouted from their friendship and blossomed into what they know will be an even more amazing marriage. For the less summarized story, please ask the newlyweds. They’ve been telling it for years and would be more than happy to share.
Tyler and Margaret got engaged Wednesday June 26th, 2019, when Tyler surprised Margaret after a long day of work. He decorated their back deck with Christmas lights and lanterns and set up a scavenger hunt for Margaret to lead her out to him. Tyler hand wrote individual love letters at each station, with the last in his pocket. Margaret followed the clues that led her to the glowing porch at sunset to find Tyler with the final clue. He then handed her the letter, got down on one knee. He asked her to marry him... And she said yes!!
