On a fateful day, December 3, 2022, Patrick concocted a plan for him and Sara to meet up with their friends downtown for an evening of ice skating at Public Square. Sara and Patrick called an Uber and arrived at Public Square, slightly ahead of their friends who were seemingly “running late”. Sara, eager to put on her skates, was prepared to hit the ice regardless of their late companions. However, Patrick suggested they take a leisurely stroll around Public Square to relish in the glow of the Christmas lights. As they turned the final corner, they found themselves in a magical tunnel illuminated by countless twinkling lights. Filled with anticipation, Patrick quickened his pace, gently grabbing hold of Sara's arm and urging her to wait for a moment.
