One of our favorite mexican food restaurants. No reservations and wait can be long on weekends but can't go wrong with the Bob Armstrong queso or their margs!
Highly recommend exploring South Congress. Lots of shops, restaurants & bars. Def check out Allen's Boots for a Texas experience.
Beautiful trail that runs around the river that runs through Austin. Recommend renting a paddle board or kayak on Town Lake and walking around the trails to explore this area! Austin is known for our bat population. Another fun thing to do is check out the bats that fly out from under the S Congress bridge.
East side of Austin is the new happening area and very close to Rainey Street! Highly recommend checking out Easy Tiger for coffee or cocktails.
One of Ashley & Ian's favorite restaurants. It's pretty upscale and requires reservations, but you will not be disappointed!
Highly recommend The Salt Lick for some amazing hill country vibes & BBQ. It's about 45 minutes from DT Austin so a bit of a drive. This BBQ is close to where Ashley grew up and is a Liner household staple. It's BYOB too!
If you aren't able to make it out to Salt Lick, La barbecue is much close to DT and is a solid option for some Texas BBQ.
West 6th Street has tons of bars & nightlife and restaurants. Ranch 616 has amazing cocktails and they invented the Ranch Water. If you haven't tried one, you must if you enjoy tequila or margaritas! Also, try a fire in the hole shot...
